A Seminar on TPSIS Creation for Regional Management Using Distributed GIS-Technologies Will Be Held at IV International Conference "Remote Sensing – the Synergy of High Technologies"
A seminar dedicated to creation of the town-planning support information system (TPSIS) for municipal and regional management using distributed GIS-technologies will be arranged as a part of IV International Conference "Remote Sensing – the Synergy of High Technologies" which will be held April 14 to 16, 2010 in the Moscow region.
The TPSIS is created by collecting, documenting, updating, processing, systematizing, accounting and storing data required for the town-planning activity. As provided for by governmental programs, TPSIS functions are currently supplemented by fulfillment and provision of electronic services to the public and companies. The TPSIS is maintained by local authorities, and data generally comes from different sources and edited by numerous users.
It is impossible to coordinate the activities of local and regional authorities without up-to-date information technologies enabling the information exchange between all participants. Solutions based on distributed GIS-technologies make it possible to create, use and manage geospatial, statistical information and heterogeneous file data as a common information resource as well as provide exchange of data sets via Internet at municipal, regional and federal levels.
Given relevance and importance of TPSIS creation and maintenance as well as provision of timely and reliable spatial information to regional and municipal authorities, a decision was taken to arrange a special seminar as a part of IV International Conference "Remote Sensing – the Synergy of High Technologies". The seminar program will cover a number of issues on development and implementation of distributed geoinformation solutions at municipal and regional levels:
- Discussion of issues arising while selecting an optimum system.
- Examples of solutions for creation of distributed geoinformation systems.
- Demonstration of distributed geoinformation systems in terms of geoportal technologies.
We invite representatives of regional and municipal town-planning and architecture departments and administrations as well as all comers to take part in the seminar! To take part in the seminar and IV International Conference "Remote Sensing – the Synergy of High Technologies" you should fill in the form on the conference site in Registration section.
