GeoEye Is a Gold Sponsor of the IV International Conference "Remote Sensing - the Synergy of High Technologies"

GeoEye will act as a gold sponsor of the IV International Conference "Remote Sensing - the Synergy of High Technologies". The conference will take place in April 14 – 16, 2010 in Atlas Park-Hotel in the Moscow region.

GeoEye, operator of GeoEye-1 and IKONOS super-resolution satellites, is one of leading providers of super-resolution Earth remote sensing (ERS) data in the world. According to results of the year 2009 the company was entered in the list of 500 most fast-growing technology companies in the North America.

Sovzond is a GeoEye’s official distributor of Earth remote sensing data acquired from IKONOS and OrbView-3 satellites (the satellite was put out of service due to failures in 2007) and GeoEye-1 new-generation space vehicle. Note that the spatial resolution of GeoEye-1 new-generation space vehicle launched September 6, 2008 is 41 cm in panchromatic mode (and 1.65 m in multispectral mode). Apart from unprecedented spatial resolution the satellite has high maneuverability, ultrahigh efficiency and can survey vast areas, in particular, in stereo mode.

The conference annually held by Sovzond is a traditional meeting place for leading Russian and foreign experts working in the field of GIS-technologies, ERS and related areas. The conference will also include an exhibition, seminars, presentation, a contest of best projects and other events.
